Gold Jewellery
Gold is a noble metal that doesn't tarnish easily, but it is soft—especially in higher purities like 22kt. Frequent wear can lead to a build-up of oils and a loss of that signature glow.
The "Last On, First Off" Rule: Always put your gold jewellery on after applying makeup, perfume, and hairspray. Chemicals in these products can dull the finish.
Avoid Chlorine: Never wear gold in swimming pools or hot tubs. Chlorine can weaken the gold's structure and eventually lead to breakage.
Gentle Cleaning: Soak your pieces in warm water with a few drops of mild, phosphate-free dish soap for 15 minutes. Use a very soft-bristled toothbrush to gently scrub intricate patterns. This will restore the natural shine of the gold.
Storage: Since 22 karat gold is particularly soft, store pieces in individual soft pouches or lined compartments to prevent them from scratching each other.

925 Sterling Silver contains 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals (usually copper). Because of this composition, it naturally reacts with sulfur or moisture in the air to form "tarnish."
