History And Legacy
While our ancestors had been gold smiths for many generations, the foundation of Sudarshan Jewellers was laid by Late Shri Sudarshan Prasad after he migrated to Kanpur post independence in 1948. He began his career working as a freelance Gold smith and quickly gained fame for his creative and artistic works across Kanpur. In the next 2 years, he began a small Jewellery Shop and setup his workshop behind shop door where he would manufacture the jewellery that he would sell from the store.
Fast forward to 1993, his youngest son, Mr. Sunil Kumar Verma, opened a small shop on his father's name in Yadav Market, Kidwai Nagar, Kanpur. For the next 32 years, he learned the trade, earned local people's trust and kept steadily growing his proprietorship, facing all the ups and downs of life happily and courageously.
On 21st November 2025, we marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of our premier, elevated showroom in Kidwai Nagar Market, Kanpur. This expansion is driven by a singular passion: to build a fine-jewellery brand that transcends the "fashion statement." We believe jewellery should be more than an accessory; it is a lasting asset. Our mission is to provide our valued customers with exquisite craftsmanship that serves as a foundation for wealth and a legacy of beauty by manufacturing and sourcing the most innovative jewellery design at cheapest possible making charges.
Our Mantra
For thousands of years, Gold and Silver have been the most important and revered assets in form of coins and jewellery of the Indian families; for kings, farmers and merchants alike due to its high liquidity, ease of storage and physical properties. However, in the past twenty years, gold and silver prices have sky-rocketed, jewellery designs have become more and more complex and intricate, causing the making charges to increase. Hence, buying jewellery no more feels like investing.
Huge jewellery brands spend thousands of crores in advertising and marketing, in creating larger-than-life stores and the customers have to pay the price of all these expenses in the name of making charge.
At Sudarshan Jewellers, we are striving to bring back Gold and Silver Jewellery as the safest and highest yielding asset class. In the last five years, gold prices have more than tripled while the silver has grown by five times it's value back then making them the best performing assets. We aim to work with grass root local jewellery artisans, keep our advertising budget to minimum so we can can offer fine jewellery in lowest making charges.
